Extensis Suitcase 9 Network Edition helps workgroups operate in font harmony. Whether they are across the room or around the world, members of a workgroup will have access to the same set of fonts. Those fonts can be managed and upgraded instantly - even over the Internet.Rather than rely on file sharing to accomplish font synchronization, Suitcase Network Edition employs industry-standard TCP/IP to handle client/server communication and data transfer. Any network that supports TCP/IP can immediately support a font server. Better yet, any workstation that can access the Internet can access Suitcase 9 Network Edition. Remote design groups can use dial-up connections to connect with a central office, synchronize fonts, and then disconnect, without any interaction from the workstation user. Suitcase 9 Network Edition does not open fonts across a network. Instead, fonts are replicated from the server to the workstation. |
