A high-speed network-based intrusion detection system (NIDS), Dragon Sensor detects attacks by monitoring network traffic as it passes over the IT infrastructure. Dragon Sensor analyzes network traffic at the protocol and application level, employing both signature- and anomaly-based techniques to identify network misuse, attack and denial of service efforts. This combination of techniques provides market-leading detection capability, whether it's a brute-force, "smash-and-grab" or a more subtle "low-and-slow" attack.As attackers become more sophisticated, so do their capabilities of evading lesser intrusion detection systems. However, Dragon Sensor, with its leading IDS-evasion countermeasures, is not thwarted by common IP-fragmentation and TCP/UDP stream disassembly methods or the more advanced protocol-encoding techniques. These countermeasures, combined with Dragon Sensor's leading signature base, help explain why Dragon continues to outperform the competition. |
